This drum is now suffering from extreme pitting, this does seem to be more typical on the UK drums too. This version features the Scripted Rogers badge on the front with the Custom Built Dyna-Sonic Badge on the reverse. The USA drums production spanned from the 60’s through to the early 80’s whilst the B&H drums ran we believe between 1961 through to 1968. With the combined strengths of Henry Grossman’s vision, Joe Thompson’s pioneering inventions for the drummer and Ben Strauss’ artist & relations. Speak to any Dyna-Sonic fans and they will tell you that the performance and the quality was consistent throughout the build period in both the USA and UK. Although Rogers has had a long and diverse history in percussion manufacturing, the Covington Era (1956 1965) was undoubtedly the golden age of Rogers drums. At the time it was also considered highly innovative with the snare cradle system. Like the USA drum The Dyna-Sonic is a versatile drum, with incredible responsiveness. Rogers in the US phased this specification out as plastic heads became more popular but the spec remained the same throughout production in the UK.

B&H fitted the UK version of the Dynasonic throughout production with Tall Hoops (still fitted on this one) these were originally designed for calf skin heads which stretched down. This drum will be around 1965 - 1968 due to the Beavertail lug and short chrome logo badge which were both added later on in the run. Seven Line, Beavertail Lug drums will be found. The UK edition of the dyna-sonic has a stamped serial number on the inside of the shell and is marked made in England, though many other component parts are still marked USA.
